On May 19th, we cut the ribbon at 1178 River Street — and our village showed up.
What began as a dream and a commitment to Boston’s young men and to Hyde Park became something we can stand in front of, something we can point to! The celebration was a reflection of everything that made this moment possible: community, partnership, and years of people believing in this work before the building ever had our name on it.
We were honored to have Councilor Enrique Pepen and Councilor-at-Large Ruthzee Louijeune present a congratulatory resolution on behalf of the city council. We also had representatives from the Mayor’s Office of Boston Male Advancement and the Mayor’s Hyde Park liaison share remarks and present a certificate of recognition on behalf of Mayor Wu. Their presence was a reminder that what YMWAP is building on River Street matters well beyond our walls.

A special thank you to the ALKU Foundation — first supporter of our YMWAP Comes Home Capital Campaign! We appreciate you being there to celebrate with us.
This building is ours. And the work continues.
