On February 28, Young Man with a Plan’s Executive Director, Dr. Jaykyri Simpson, received the Massachusetts Black Excellence Award.
The Black Excellence Awards are an annual event hosted by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus to honor and celebrate Black community leaders who are driving social change in their cities and towns across the state.
Dr. Jay was nominated by Elizabeth “Liz” Miranda, Massachusetts State Senator from the 2nd Suffolk District, who wrote,
“This recognition is a testament to your incredible contributions and impact in our community.”
The event, hosted by the Massachusetts Black and Latino Caucus, drew hundreds of people from across the state to celebrate Black Excellence and the achievements of exemplary leaders like YMWAP’s Dr. Simpson.
