YMWAP’s unique collaboration between Boston district and charter schools is driven by a common goal of closing gaps and helping our young men achieve better outcomes. Participating schools are: Boston Community Leadership Academy, Boston Preparatory Charter School, Boston Green Academy, Boston Collegiate Charter School, Jeremiah Burke High School, Codman Academy, New Mission High School, and TechBoston Academy. A diverse Board of school leaders representing our partner schools meets five times a year to oversee the program.
YMWAP works with the Boston PIC on summer job placements. Our young men have also participated in Harvard Crimson, Noonan Scholars and Juniper Writers at UMass Amherst. YMWAP regularly engages guest educators, including financial advisor, a BPD Officer, a college admissions representative, a BPS guidance counselor, a former POSSE Scholar, and staff members of the Ben Franklin Institute. YMWAP also shares learning on educating males of color with BPS, funders, and other Boston nonprofit organizations serving youth.
