Our model & Theory of Change

YMWAP’s theory of change is to provide multi-layered support, guidance, education and love to our membership, to teach them to have self-discipline and form order in their lives, and then to offer opportunities and access so that they may develop agency.

Our Model

YMWAP recruits 8th and 9th grade students “in the middle” from eight Boston schools. Throughout grades 8 -12 young men receive 3 hours of weekly mentoring focused on developing academic, social-emotional, and financial literacy skills and on college & career planning, all to access sustainable futures in Boston and beyond.
